Diagnostic And Radiology
DETAILS ABOUT PROCEDURES
Introduction
Welcome to the Diagnostic & Radiology Services at Tabba Heart Institute, where cutting-edge technology meets compassionate care. Our state-of-the-art facility offers a comprehensive range of non-invasive imaging modalities to accurately diagnose and monitor cardiac conditions. Our team of highly skilled and experienced professionals is dedicated to providing accurate, timely, and patient-centered services.
Our Services:
- Echocardiography: Our advanced echocardiography suite is equipped with the latest technology to provide detailed images of your heart’s structure and function. Our skilled technicians and cardiologists perform various types of echocardiograms, including Transthoracic Echocardiogram (TTE), Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE), and Stress Echocardiogram.
- Exercise Tolerance Test (ETT): The Exercise Tolerance Test helps evaluate your heart’s response to physical stress. Our experts monitor your heart’s electrical activity while you exercise on a treadmill, providing valuable insights into your cardiac health.
- Holter Monitoring: Holter Monitoring involves wearing a portable device that continuously records your heart’s activity over a period of time. This test helps detect irregularities in heart rhythm that may not be captured during a standard ECG.
- Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM): ABPM measures your blood pressure at regular intervals over a 24-hour period, providing a more comprehensive understanding of your blood pressure patterns.
- Nuclear Imaging: Our nuclear imaging techniques, such as Myocardial Perfusion Imaging, assess blood flow to the heart muscle. This non-invasive procedure aids in diagnosing coronary artery disease and evaluating treatment effectiveness.
- CT Scans: Our advanced CT scanners produce detailed cross-sectional images of your heart and blood vessels, aiding in the diagnosis of various cardiovascular conditions.
- Ultrasounds: Our skilled sonographers use ultrasound technology to visualize the heart and blood vessels, enabling accurate diagnosis of conditions such as valve disorders and congenital heart defects.
- X-Ray: X-ray imaging is a quick and painless way to capture images of your chest and other areas, helping us identify potential cardiac issues.
- Electrocardiogram (ECG): We offer standard and specialized ECGs to assess your heart’s electrical activity and detect any abnormalities
Echocardiography is an important tool in assessing how patient’s heart chambers are working with suspected cardiac disease. Echocardiography is performed in THI by certified and trained cardiac sonographers and reported by international certified cardiologist using specialized/Advance software.
Stress echo is a test to assess heart function under stressful condition. Stress echo is especially useful in diagnosing coronary heart disease into assess the probability of coronary artery blockages or viability of damaged heart muscles. All stress procedures are conducted under the supervision of a doctor at all times. Medication and exercise are the two types of stress echo tests, if you are able to perform the exercise echocardiogram – TSE is advised and if not, then medication (DSE) is used for stressing the heart.
In this test, a specially designed probe is introduced into the esophagus to obtain very clear images of the heart. This procedure is carried out during Cardiac surgeries as well (Intra operation TEE).
An exercise tolerance test (ETT) records the electrical activity of your heart whilst you exercise. It is also used to detect whether heart rhythm abnormalities can be brought on by exercise.
Holter monitor uses a portable heart rhythm recorder worn for 1-2 days. Holter monitoring gives doctors a constant reading of your heart rate and rhythm over a 24-hour period (or longer).
A noninvasive method of obtaining BP readings over a 24 hour period whilst the patient is in his own environment representing a true reflection of his own BP.
The event loop monitors, records and helps in identifying irregularities in the heart rhythm, with the use of electrodes and a device attached to your chest. These recorders are available for a week and a month as per advice by the physician.
If you have sudden or frequent fainting spells (syncope), your doctor may order a Tilt-Table Test. During this test, we will monitor your heart rate and blood pressure as you lie flat on a table.
A nuclear stress test uses a small amount of radioactive material (tracer) and an imaging machine to create pictures showing the blood flow to your heart. The test measures blood flow while your heart at rest and during stress, showing areas with poor blood supply or damage in your heart.
A thyroid and parathyroid scans are a nuclear medicine imaging test uses a small amount of radioactive tracer material, to examine the structure and function of the thyroid and parathyroid gland.
We perform all kinds of CT scans, with an advanced CT machine, the CT technician performs the scan, which are reported by the Radiologist for CT non cardiac scans, and by Cardiologist for CT Cardiac scans.
The machinery (Ultrasound machine and specialized radiologists and sonologist) is equipped to perform multidisciplinary modalities of the ultrasound which includes women imaging (breast, OBS, TVS and Gyne), anomaly scans, and minor biopsies, pediatric and adult scans. It performs the comprehensive diagnoses to analyze the causes of swelling and infection in the body’s internal organs. Standard Ultrasound procedures include Abdomen Ultrasound, KUB, Renal Doppler’s, Thyroid, Arterial and Venus DVT and Carotid Doppler etc.
Located on the ground floor, X-Ray Lab has a state of art Stationed X-ray machine and 2 mobile X-ray machines for portable X-rays. The X-Ray dept. incorporates a processing room.. All kinds of X-rays are performed round the clock to inpatients, outpatients, and inpatient portables.
