After being established in 2004, Tabba Heart Institute (THI) established the “Nursing Services” and under that umbrella “Nursing Education Services” in 2005 with the support of Higher Management. The basic aim of the institution is to provide quality education and hands-on nursing skills especially in the field of cardiovascular health care.
Tabba Heart Institute has a strong commitment to providing quality healthcare. With this notion in mind, THI is involved in training its staff members, giving them early access to new technologies that in turn gives them the edge to treat the patients with greater expertise. The THI team consists of experts from the fields of cardiovascular and health care.
The Mission of the NES:
The mission of the NES is for faculty and students to be an excellent discipline in cardiovascular nursing care through innovative and impactful nursing education, research, practice, and service to the community at large.

The vision of Tabba Heart Institute ‘Nursing Education Services’ is to provide quality learning experience and quality training for Nurses and health care professionals not only in the field of cardiovascular diseases but to develop skills for patient centered care.

NES Objectives:
To sustain the nursing mission and values and maintain quality services.To provide nurses with up-to-date knowledge and skills in order to promote a learning culture and improve work efficiency and effectiveness through in-service programTo facilitate the provision of holistic care by cultivating insights and clarifying with Nursestheir responsibilities and commitments and skills in their expanding roles through education and supervision.To build a culture of continuous learning, nurses are encouraged to attend formal courses or conferences/seminars/workshops to keep themselves abreast with the latest developments and disseminate that information.
Academics’ Program offered by NES:
Tabba Heart Institute Nursing Education Services offers the following academics’ programs:
Nursing Assistance Course (Internal):
- Duration of the program is six months.
- Discipline body is THI.
- Academic Period/ session are January to June.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Matric Science, Arts, Commerce with minimum 50% marks.
- Preferably Science Group.
- Age not more than 28 years.
Certified Cardiac Critical Care Technicians Course:
- Duration of the program is one year.
- Discipline bodies are Sindh Medical Faculty (SMF) & THI
- Academic Period/ session are January to December.
Eligibility Criteria:

Post RN Diploma in Cardiac Nursing:
- Duration of the program is one year.
- Discipline body is Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC)

Continuous Nursing Education
Tabba Heart Institute (THI) is the leading Cardiac Hospital of the City. One of the functional scope of the hospital includes Teaching and Training of the healthcare providers both in-house as well as community at large. Keeping with the objectives of the institute and to sustain the vision of THI, Nursing Education Services has conceived the notion of continuous nursing education (CNEs). CNE (Workshop/s) is one of the steps towards quality education. Collaboration with nurses of other institutes can interchange best practice techniques, thoughts and ideas, this will help health care workers to ensure the delivery of safe, evidence-based, care for patients.
Mechanism of Workshops:
- Nursing Education Services of THI will offer one workshop every month.
- Yearly workshops schedule will be shared to the relevant people in the month of December.
- Registration of every workshop will be mandatory.
- Registration charges of each workshop will be PKR. / 1000.
- Certificates and refreshment will be served.
- It will be a 2 – 3 hours’ workshop.
- Date, Time & Venue will be shared before each workshop.
