Clinical Research

Research overview

Tabba Heart Institute started investing in the future by establishing a research department in 2012 to attain its reputation as a research-driven organization. Since its inception, the research department fosters an inclusive and creative climate to promote stellar research advances in a proficient and ethical fashion.

The multidisciplinary research team consists of a diverse community of expert researchers and clinicians invested in creating an evidence base to support clinical practices. The most distinguishing feature of our research department is the formulation and maintenance of a data bank of over 25,000 patients with at least one-year follow-up collected over 15 years. We take great pride in being the only institution in Pakistan whose cardiovascular registry data is benchmarked by National Cardiovascular Disease Registry, USA.

The on-going projects at Tabba Heart Institute includes path-breaking clinical trials and observational studies, funded by international and local sponsors. We are among very few healthcare institutes in Pakistan working on Artificial intelligence and quality improvement in cardiovascular research. A few of our most eminent collaborators backing our research advances include the Institute of Health and Metrics Evaluation, World Heart Federation, Population Health Research Institute, and the University of West Virginia.
