Sterile Room Pharmacy

Compounded sterile preparations (CSPs) has been an important part in the patient care. Sterile compounding is defined as combining, admixing, diluting, pooling, reconstituting, repackaging, or otherwise altering a drug or bulk drug substance to create a sterile medication. THI sterile room pharmacy has adopted a home grown strategy by utilizing resources efficiently to meet the ISO classification and play a major role in preventing harm to patients.  Intravenous medications to be administered such extemporaneous, antibiotics, concentrated electrolytes, high alert medications and parenteral nutrition are compounded in aseptic conditions that comply with current USP 797 standards. This requires the practices of aseptic technique and protocol including maintaining clean room air, properly garbed personnel and quality assurance. All staff is trained and qualified and meeting minimum requirement to minimize microbial contamination.
