Introduction

The cafeteria at Tabba Heart Institute holds a significant role in promoting the overall well-being and quality of the hospital. Along with providing quality care to patients, the institute also offers comfortable dining facilities to patients, their families, attendants, and staff. The cafeteria provides a variety of meal services, including patient meals, staff meals, and regular meals for attendants and visitors. The cafeteria  is responsible for the daily catering operation, preparing patient meal trays, and delivering food and beverages to wards as per the patient requirements.

In addition, the cafeteria offers subsidized/discounted staff meals from a regular or specific discount menu, available at two different cafeteria locations. The institute has maintained ISO standards for its food services for the past 15 years and has implemented a system to manage the flow of food services from end-to-end points. Furthermore, regular food committee meetings and feedback system  also review and monitor all cafeteria activities to ensure high-quality food services

Supervision by Qualified Dietitians

The THI Cafeteria specializes in providing safe and nutritionally wholesome food, and to maintain this standard, the cafeteria supervised by  well-qualified “Dietitians “. These Dietitians  adhere to a set of nutritional standards and guidelines, ensuring that the cafeteria provides optimal, nutritious food to its consumers. THI Cafeteria guarantees the use of wholesome ingredients, right cooking techniques, and hygiene standards to deliver palatable food. Moreover, by following  HACCP and ISO SOP’s standards, the cafeteria’s kitchen meets international standards and this  hospital has been recognized for its high international standards and holds ISO 9001:2015 & 14001:2015 certifications.

The kitchen at THI Cafeteria is furnished with state-of-the-art professional cooking ranges/ovens, dishwashers/sterilizers, and food refrigeration systems. To maintain the air quality, air handlers equipped with pre- and bag filters are installed.

Diversifying ranges of typical Traditional, Continental, Chinese, Italian, Fast food, Baked, Salads, and Desserts, are also available for Lunch and Dinner every day. All the foods’ taste and presentation well complement the impression of high standards. There is no acceptance of lackluster for cooked frozen food as all fresh and raw foods are bought by the caterers from M/s. Metro Cash & Carry and other purveyors of repute to assemble these into “fresh produces”. There are monitoring bodies from the hospital to oversee the supplies.

Tabba Heart Institute offers two cafeteria facilities for the convenience of its clients, one located on the ground floor and the other on the 4th floor. Both cafeterias are designed to provide a relaxed and comfortable environment for patients’ attendants, visitors, and staff. The interiors are thoughtfully crafted to create a lively ambiance with comfortable and well-furnished seating arrangements that cater to the diverse needs of the hospital’s clientele. The cafeteria serves healthy and hygienic food options round the clock, from 7:00 am to 10:30 pm, 365 days a year, without any interruptions

AVM (Automatic Vending Machine) for Beverages, Snacks

To cater to the needs of patient families, attendants, and staff round the clock , THI offers an automatic vending machine that provides snacks, beverages, tea, and coffee at affordable prices. This real-time facility ensures that visitors have access to refreshments at all times, fulfilling their requirements at any hour of the day.

Foods of Diversifying Ranges

The Cafeterias at THI offer a wide variety of hot and cold beverages, as well as nutritious and healthy breakfast options. For lunch and dinner, a diverse range of dishes are available, including Traditional, Continental, Chinese, Italian, Fast food, Baked, Salads, and Desserts. The taste and presentation of all the dishes reflect the high standards upheld by THI. Only fresh and raw ingredients are used in the preparation of food, which are sourced from reputable food and Grocery stores. The hospital has monitoring bodies in place to oversee the supply chain to ensure the quality and safety of the food. There is a zero-tolerance policy for the use of lackluster cooked frozen food.
